Terms of Service
Effective 30 May 2026
By using Petalon you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable. If anything's unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
1. The service
Petalon is a candidate-side review tool — a place for job-seekers to share what they experienced applying to a company. Votes are opinions, not vetted facts. Aggregate flags should be read as "this is what other applicants reported," not as a verified record.
2. Your account
You need an account to vote and to use the dashboard. You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
3. Acceptable content
You agree not to:
- Post defamatory or false statements about identifiable individuals (recruiters, hiring managers, founders).
- Vote on companies you have no genuine candidate experience with.
- Automate voting or use multiple accounts to amplify a position.
- Sell, share, or otherwise exploit Petalon access or data.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or load-test our APIs outside of normal Chrome extension usage.
We have rate limits (30 votes per user per 24h) and an audit-driven brigading detector. Accounts that try to game the system are removed.
4. Tracked jobs (Pro)
You can save job listings to your private Petalon dashboard. The notes you write there are visible only to you.
5. LinkedIn
Petalon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn. We are a third-party Chrome extension that reads the public DOM of pages you yourself open while signed into LinkedIn. You're responsible for complying with LinkedIn's own User Agreement. We don't post, message, connect, or otherwise act on your behalf — the extension is read-only on LinkedIn.
6. Billing & cancellation
- Paid plans (Basic €5/mo, Pro €8/mo, 15% off yearly) renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- We don't refund partial months but we also don't trap you — no cancellation calls, no clawbacks.
- If we materially change pricing or features, we'll email you 30 days before the change takes effect.
7. Service availability
We try hard to keep Petalon up, but we don't promise zero downtime. If LinkedIn changes their DOM and our extension breaks for a few hours, that's not grounds for a refund. If we have a prolonged outage on our own infrastructure that materially degrades your subscription, get in touch and we'll do the right thing.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — typically with notice and an explanation, but immediately if there's clear abuse (brigading, automated voting, defamation).
9. Liability
Petalon is provided "as is." We're a small operation. To the extent legally possible, our total liability for any claim relating to Petalon is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under EU consumer law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by EU consumer-protection law. Your statutory rights as an EU consumer are not affected by anything in this document. You can always bring a claim in your country of residence.
11. Changes
If we update these terms, we'll email you at least 30 days before any change. Continued use after that means you agree to the update; otherwise, cancel and we'll process a pro-rated refund.
